FEATURED POEM

December 16, 2007
Sleep

It was late in the night
The mind flew …Eh!
What could the soul feel?
Idle lay the weary heel.

Prophecies are here foretold.

I hear some nocturnal bird howl
Not for me the melancholic cry!

Merrily, merrily
To sing!

**The Poet** ADESHINA OLUSANYA: Headlines (poem)

April 12, 2007

Headlines (poem)

April 12, 2007
It saddens
Horse rides ‘rider’

Worm eats pig

Ward slaps parent
Son curses mum
Dad docks daughter.

Goat eats kid,
Leaving straw fallow.

Dog eats babe

Servants manage master,
Pupils beat teacher.

It saddens
When tenants
Share landlord’s gold.

Vehicle drives ‘driver’

When anarchy turns government
Future swaps for pleasure.

Diomedes (poem)

April 5, 2007
Ah! Trojan battle…
Rider slumped as Hector struck.
Horse stopped, wept and fled.
